Terms of sale and use
These terms cover buying and using Paperlight for Mac. Last updated 6 November 2026.
Who sells it
- Orders are processed by Lemon Squeezy, our online reseller and Merchant of Record. Lemon Squeezy takes the payment, issues the invoice and handles sales tax and VAT, and its buyer terms apply to the payment.
- Paperlight itself, its updates and its support come from us. Write to support@getpaperlight.com.
What you get
- A personal license key, paid once. There is no subscription and nothing renews.
- Every feature of Paperlight for Mac and every update we release, for as long as we release them.
- Use on up to 5 Macs that you own or use. To move the key, choose Remove from This Mac in Settings › License; for a Mac sold or broken first, the app can free up your other Macs once every 30 days.
- The iPhone and iPad app is free; syncing with it needs a Mac with Paperlight activated.
Using the license
- The key is for you (or, if a company bought it, for one person there). Please don’t publish it, resell it or share it beyond your own Macs.
- Don’t remove or work around the license check, and don’t redistribute the app.
- Keys of refunded orders, or keys shared publicly, can be stopped from activating new Macs.
Refunds
- Full refund within 14 days of purchase, no questions asked. See the refund policy.
Warranty and liability
- We work hard to make Paperlight reliable, but it is provided as is, without warranties beyond those the law requires.
- To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to the price you paid, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Keep backups of what matters.
- Nothing here limits the rights you have as a consumer under the law of your country.
Changes
- If these terms change, the new version is posted here with its date. A change never takes away what you already bought.
